Each year the Bluewater Local Executive selects a non-profit organization to make a donation to upon the passing of a member’s loved one. In 2024-2025 the Local will be making donations to Walk for Courage. This is more than just an annual fundraiser; it’s a community lifeline that brings people together to support mental health awareness and suicide prevention. It offers a space for individuals to walk in memory of loved ones lost to suicide or in honour of those who have survived attempts, thanks in part to the vital support they received. It’s a reminder that while we walk in remembrance and sorrow, we also walk in solidarity and hope. Funds directly support a variety of essential Mental Health programs through the Canadian Mental Health Association.
